Ciprofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that effectively treats a host of bacterial infections. This formulation puts the power of Ciprofloxacin in eye drop form for treating eye infections in dogs and cats.

Veterinarians prescribe Ciprofloxacin Ophthalmic eye drops to treat bacterial infections of the eye and eyelid including conjunctivitis.  Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. This broad-spectrum medication is safe and effectively kills a range of bacteria that can damage the eye.  The medication works by stopping the bacteria from making DNA, which kills the bacteria and stops the infection. Ciprofloxacin Ophthalmic must be given for several days in a row as prescribed by your pet's veterinarian to be effective. This is not a preventive medicine.
